Charles Vance Harrington

Sept. 17, 1933 ~ April 8, 2009

Memorial service for Charles Vance Harrington, 75, Robinson's Landing, will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Paradise Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Donny Crittendon, pastor, officiating.

Mr. Harrington died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at his home.

Arrangements under direction of Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher.

He was born Sept. 17, 1933, in Anadarko, to Walter Vance and Neva Gwendolyn (Pahdoco) Harrington.

He went to Anadarko High School where he was in the FFA, played football, and was a calf roper.

He served in the Army and was discharged as a Sergeant First Class. He then went to work for Lee-Way Motor Freight as a truck driver, and retired in 1995 from Yellow Freight.

He married Darlene Estes Blanton Aug. 23, 1975, in Oklahoma City. She died March 25, 2004. They moved to Robinson's Boat Landing in 1980, and he became a volunteer fireman for the Meers Volunteer Fire Department.
