A Celebration of Life Service for Rex Harmon, age 71, of Enid, will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May, 16, 2026, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. Service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Born on October 6, 1954, to Fred and Mary Harmon, and peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the age of 71.
Rex was raised in Enid, Oklahoma, where he attended Enid Public Schools and graduated in 1972. In his younger years, he was known for his love of fast cars, good times, and "chirping birdies," a passion and sense of humor that remained with him throughout his life.
After high school, Rex continued his education at Autry Technology Center, studying HVAC. He began his career working for Sturdevant Ice and Heating & Air Conditioning, where he developed the skills and reputation that would eventually lead him to establish Harmon Heating and Air Conditioning. Through decades of hard work, Rex became well known for his dedication to his customers, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He continued working in the trade he loved until April 13, 2026.
Rex enjoyed spending time at the lake throughout the 1990s and into the late 2000s, where many memories were made with family and friends. He loved conversation, laughter, and being surrounded by the people he cared about most.
One of Rex's greatest accomplishments in life was his sobriety. In 2002, he made the life-changing decision to become sober and remained sober for 24 years. His strength, perseverance, and commitment served as an inspiration to many who knew him.
Above all else, Rex was a loving and thoughtful father and papa. He cared deeply for his children and grandchildren and was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer advice, or simply be there when needed.
During his lifetime, Rex was blessed with two marriages. From his marriage to Bonnie Strickland, two children were born, Lindsey Harmon and Ryan Harmon. From his second marriage to Charlita Bahm, two more children were born, Brandon Harmon and Katie Harmon.
Rex is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Darrell Harmon. He is survived by his children, Lindsey (Kent) Trumbley, Ryan (Kristal) Harmon, Brandon (Kaitlyn) Harmon, and Katie (Travis) Patton; one brother, Danny Harmon; one sister, Doris Jantz; and his eight beloved grandchildren, Kenna Harmon, Katelyn Trumbley, Tre' Harmon, Braedon Harmon, Raeley Harmon, Kaden Patton, Axeton Harmon, and Layla Harmon.
Rex will be remembered for his generosity, his determination, his sense of humor, and the love he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rex's name may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodian of the funds.
