Edwin R. B. Harmon

Sept. 22, 1920 ~ Nov. 19, 2006

Visitation for Edwin R. B. Harmon will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Friday, November 24, 2006 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Cryptside services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery on Saturday Morning, November 25, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Milt Cole will officiate.

Edwin was born September 22, 1920, in Corinne, Oklahoma and he passed way November 19, 2006, in Coalinga, California.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Zada Harmon; parents, Dan and Amanda Harmon; brother, Odis Harmon; sister, Opal Stoops; grandson, Matthew Lewis and great granddaughter, Brandy Grant.

He is survived by his daughter, Norma Lewis; son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Debbie Harmon, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Jerry Lewis; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lou Ella Harmon; brother-in-law and sister-on-law, Ervy and Lottie Tallant; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Edwin served his country proudly in World War II upon the U.S.S. Eldorado, surviving the battle of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

Afterwards he found work in the oil fields of Kern County and driving trucks across this country he greatly loved. He also loved spending his time playing baseball, fishing and talking and making friends with everyone he encountered.

Family and friends will regretfully miss his presence that always warmed their hearts.
