Dickey Joe Hardman was born on Saturday, December 28th, 1957 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Carl Frank Hardman and Minnie Lee (Rowton) Hardman. Dickey passed from this life into his Savior’s arms on Friday, January 3rd, 2025 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 67.
Dickey attended Atoka High School and was a lifelong resident of Atoka until October 2023 when he moved to Madill. Dickey was self-employed, he farmed and raised cattle. He had a passion he truly enjoyed and loved being in the hayfield. He had the biggest heart, always putting others first and helping any way he could.
He married Bonnie Sledd on Friday, August 7th, 2009 in Atoka. This was a love story only God could have written. They were blessed with 15 beautiful years together. When Dickey and Bonnie weren’t chasing a cow or working in the hayfields, they could be found on Clear Boggy Creek.
Dickey is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hardman of the Madill home; brothers Jim Hardman and wife, Lisa of Atoka, and Sam Hardman and wife, Paula of Atoka; sisters Frankie Faulkenberry and husband, O.L. of Atoka, and Nina Robertson of Atoka; along with nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Dickey was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ben Hardman and Dan Hardman.
The road you walked was anything but easy we fought our fight, now your race is run you will live on in my heart. I’ll feel your presence when the wild flowers bloom, I’ll hear your voice in the flutter of the humming bird wings. Dementia didn’t win, God just needed his Angel to come Home….
A very special Thank you to Centric Hospice for all the love and support you poured upon us. God sent us Angels and we were so blessed to have such a beautiful team. Words cannot express how grateful I will always be.
No funeral services are planned at this time.
Arrangements were under the care of Brown’s Funeral Service, Durant.
