Norma “Jan” Janine Hardage passed away peacefully at her home with her daughter Christine Smoker by her side on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the age of 73. She was born on December 7, 1952, in San Diego, California.
Jan was a wildlife rehabilitator who loved all animals even to the point of them overtaking her home. Some of her favorite pass times included shopping, listening to music, and riding around. She also had big dreams and enjoyed being by the water and collecting rocks. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family, especially her grandkids. She overcame addiction and alcoholism with 17 years of sobriety.
Left behind to cherish Jan’s memory are her long time significant other, Bobby Ned of the home, sister Tammy Vaughn, brother Bill Vaughn, brother Mike Vaughn, and sister Debbie Huff. Her children include daughter Christy Hardage, daughter Suzanne Hardage, and her son Robert Hardage Jr. Grandkids include Karissa Smoker, Tyler Smoker, Jacob Hardage, Caitlyn Hardage, Keri Martinez, John Hardage, Rowdy Hardage.
Preceding Jan in death are her parents, her daughter Patricia Hardage, her husband Robert Vernon Hardage Sr., and her son in law Tony Smoker, and her brother Patrick Vaughn.
Memorial service will be held tomorrow, Saturday February 28, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Church in Butcher Pen, Oklahoma.
