There will be a visitation with family 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Marshall Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Laura Beth Hamil, daughter of the late Harold Lohmann and Loretta Kay Veatch, was born June 14, 1957, at Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away October 26, 2022, at Stillwater, Oklahoma, at the age of 65 years, 4 months, and 12 days.

Laura Beth attended school in Alva, graduating with the Class of 1976. On November 6, 1976, she was united in marriage to David Earl Hamil at the Methodist Church in Alva. They made their home in Alva where they raised their family. She had a daycare for many years where she cared for many, many kids who still think of her as an extra mom or grandma. Fostering was also an important part of their lives. She later worked at the Alva Schools as a para.

Following the kids' and grandkids' activities was always her priority. She and David traveled to many sporting events and stock shows to support them. Laura enjoyed spending time with her family and thought of all her daycare kids as her own. She enjoyed gardening the last several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Kay.

Laura Beth is survived by her husband, David of Alva; her sons, Clay Hamil and wife, Tasha, of Arnett, and Craig Hamil and wife, Joslyn, of Perkins; her daughter, Ashley Hensy and husband, Charlie, of Pond Creek; her brothers, Randy Lohmann and wife, Trayce, of Kiowa, Kansas, and Mike Lohmann and wife, Dyan, of Tulsa. Also surviving are her grandchildren, MaKale, MaKenzi, and MaKenna Hamil, all of Arnett, Anna Beth Hamil and Whitlee Moser, both of Perkins, and Oakleigh and Bentlee Hensy, both of Pond Creek; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva Goldbug Foundation (make checks payable to CFO).

Remembrances may be shared with the family at http://www.marshallfuneralhomes.com.
