Patricia Elizabeth (Ritsema) Haley, 86, of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Krebs, Oklahoma.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family.
Patricia was born on August 22, 1939, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to William Ritsema and Geraldine (Horton) Ritsema. She was raised and educated in Kalamazoo, where she graduated from high school.
Patricia was united in marriage to Charles K. Haley, sharing years of love and companionship. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working in Adult Foster Care through the Veterans Affairs system in Michigan. Her compassion and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. After retiring in 2003, she moved to McAlester, Oklahoma, to be closer to her family.
Patricia found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for gardening and took great pride in her plants and flowers. She cherished her animals, especially her dogs, and found happiness in their companionship. Patricia also enjoyed visiting thrift stores and expressing her creativity through crafts and painting.
Above all, Patricia treasured the time she spent with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
Patricia is survived by her daughters, Robin Slotta of McAlester, and Michelle Sprow and husband, Barry, of Waverly Kansas; grandchildren, Chris Slotta, Brad Slotta, Meghan Haskins, Cody Haskins and wife, Amanda, Tori Burke and husband, J.J., and Kenny Haskins; twelve great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Alice Haley of Michigan; along with other beloved family members and friends, including those from the VFW community.
She will be deeply loved and greatly missed.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Haley, in 1997; her son, Jeffrey Terrance Haley; and her parents, William Ritsema and Geraldine (Horton) Ritsema.
