James (Jim) Hale
October 31, 1939 - April 07, 2017

James (Jim) Hale was born October 31, 1939 in Tyrone, Oklahoma to Ernest and Beatrice (Massie) Hale. He passed away April 7, 2017 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 6 days.

Jim lived his first 7 years in Tyrone where attended 1st Grade. In 1947, the family moved to Boise City, Oklahoma where he graduated from high school in 1958. Jim continued his education at Panhandle A&M in Goodwell, Oklahoma and received his Bachelors Degree in 1964. While in college, he met the love of his life, Billie Jean Underwood, and they were married at Forgan, Oklahoma on August 23, 1963 and they lived in Guymon for 15 years until moving to Elk City in 1977 to make their home. After college, Jim worked for Montgomery Wards, JM McDonald Co., and C. R. Anthonys until he began his 45 year career with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission as a tax enforcement officer, retiring in 2014. Jim had his pilot's license and enjoyed flying as well as being an avid motorcyclist, riding over 500,000 miles. He loved attending sporting events to watch his grandchildren play.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Frankie Dean Radcliff.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean, of the home; 3 children, Jeff Hale of Kingfisher, OK, Jeana Craig and husband, Shawn, of Elk City, OK and Joy Moore and husband, James, of Columbus, TX; 8 grandchildren, Spencer Nichols, Carter Nichols, Jameson Hale, Kailan Craig, Kane Craig, Emily Barnes, Kyle Craig and Cheyenne Moore; his brothers and sister, Stanley Hale and wife, Joanne, of Lubbock, TX, Carroll Hale and wife, Pat, of Lubbock, TX, Lyndol Hale and wife, Boodie, of Guymon, OK, Douglas Hale and wife, Debsee, of Mustang, OK, Martha Bader and husband, Mike, of Bentonville, AR and host of other relatives and friends.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Second and Adams Church of Christ Youth Group, PO Box 1609, Elk City, OK 73648.
