Clint "Cody" Hager

Clint "Cody" Hager
July 19, 1978 ~ December 07, 2019

Clint "Cody" Hager, 41 year old resident of Vici, Oklahoma made his final ride westward into the sunset on December 7, 2019. Cody was born July 19, 1978 to Joe Dee and Karolyn Sue (Grice) Hager. Cody and the family lived in Guymon, Oklahoma until 1985 where he attended Guymon Public Schools through the third grade. In 1985, Cody and the family moved to Sharon, Oklahoma where he attended Sharon-Mutual Public Schools. During his school years, Cody was a member of the T-Ball, Football, Basketball and Wrestling teams, even winning state in Wrestling. Many of his summers were spent breaking horses with his dad.

On December 28, 2002, Cody was united in marriage to Amie Buck at the Vici First Christian Church. Cody brought one daughter to the marriage, Pamela Jade Hager. Cody and Amie were additionally blessed with three sons together: Hunter Newly Hager, Dakota Lawson Hager and Wyatt James Hager. Cody, Amie and family lived in Woodward, Oklahoma, Shattuck, Oklahoma, Canadian, Texas, and Arnett, Oklahoma before making their final home on Amie’s family homestead in Vici, Oklahoma.

Cody worked in the trucking and oil field industry. He enjoyed hunting with his children, shooting guns, fishing, and listening to Rock and Christian music. Cody was a member of the Vici Rodeo Club, Christin Cowboys, Yesterday’s Riders, and Guthrie Gun Fighters. Growing up, Cody, his family and some friends would make a 140 mile long ride from Sharon, Oklahoma to Guymon, Oklahoma on horseback to attend Pioneer Days where he would spend time with his grandparents. Cody was baptized at a young age by Clyde Irving at the Mutual Christian Church. He was a member of the Mutual Christian Church and the Restoration Church in Seiling, Oklahoma.

Cody enjoyed attending all of the boys’ ball games, talking drama to Jade, spending quality time with his brother Shane, watching movies with Amie, talking to his mom on the phone and talking guns with his dad. His interest included: dirt roading, breaking horses, spending time with his pups and drinking cold beer. A couple of Cody’s special memories were winning the best Chevelle at a car show and winning a trophy in the Seiling parade with his red convertible.

Cody loved to tell stories of the past, his childhood and his many adventures. Even if you had already heard the story 100 times! He enjoyed telling jokes and making everyone around him laugh. Cody never met a stranger and always looked out for the underdogs in life, whether it be the outsiders or the outcasts. Cody had a great love for the outdoors. He didn’t like the heat of summer and always looked forward to winter, because there was “more to do”. He had a tender spot for horses, dogs and OU Sooner Football.

Whether Cody was jamming out with his kids, teaching them how to tie fishing lures his way (he thought that his way was the best and only way it should be done!), taking his kids for rides in his semi truck, riding four-wheelers, mudding, spending time with his great-niece Hazelynn or adapting to whatever age group he was around, he was always the life of the party. You couldn’t leave his presence without a hearty laugh from his jokes or a smile. Cody was very protective of his family. To him, family meant everything.

Cody is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Harold and Jean Hager; maternal grandparents Lawson and Ruby Grice; uncles Tommy Grice, Warren Grice, Ricky Grice and Jimmy Grice; mother-in-law Robin Buck; and best friends Derrin Juul and Rob Dunlap.

Cody is survived by his wife Amie Hager of Vici; daughter Pamela Jade Hager and special friend Tyten Ake of Seiling; sons Hunter Hager, Dakota Hager and Wyatt Hager of Vici; parents Joe and Karolyn Hager of Vici; brother Shane Hager and wife Mary of Sharon; sister Shawnda Ferbrache and husband Jeremy of Woodward; father-in-law JC Buck of Vici; sister-in-law Annie Buck (Towns); brother-in-law Matt Buck of Vici; uncles Terry Hager and Rob Hager; nieces Sara Mae Clow and special friend Dawson Fullbright, Phoebe Hager, Kortlyn Ferbrache, Rachel Towns; nephews Billy Hager, Dillan Hager, Rylan Ferbrache, Quaid Hager, Kane Towns and Remington Towns; special great-niece Hazelynn Mae Fullbright; and a host of family and friends.
