Jane (Stewart) Haddock

Jane (Stewart) Haddock
December 4, 1937 ~ November 28, 2025

Jane Stewart Haddock was born on Saturday, December 4, 1937, in Durant, the youngest child of Edwin Wylie Stewart and Mary Kathryn Miller Stewart. She passed from this life into her reward on Friday, November 28, 2025 at her home.

Jane attended and graduated with honors from Durant High School. Her high school years were busy with piano activities, being on Lion’s Roar staff, and band activities under the perfectionist, Mr. Roy Weger.

She married the love of her life, Harold C. Haddock, and they were blessed with a daughter, Kaye, and two sons, Crandon and David.

She led a full life and was active in their Church and family who always came first in her life. With Harold’s graduation from Southeastern State Teachers College, now SOSU, the family moved to Ft. Worth, Texas, for three years where he was in the accounting department of Kimball Milling Co.

They then moved back to Durant where they were very active at First Christian Church. Jane taught VBS for 10 consecutive years, was an active choir member, and was substitute Sunday school teacher. She also loved sewing and made most of the children’s clothes.

After purchasing a business in Denison, Texas, they moved to Denison and she attended Grayson County College and earned an associate degree. Jane taught in the Denison elementary school system for 13 and a half years.

In 2004, she and Harold celebrated their golden wedding anniversary by enjoying a long awaited trip to Hawaii with a tour group. She never missed a chance to clap at their children’s extra non-school activities.
Her likes and hobbies were singing with the Red River Sweet Adelines, Denison High School band booster, Denison Service League, Durant Texoma Sams RV Chapter, AAUW, Chamber of Commerce Red Coats, and Red and Purple Hat Ladies.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 5th, at Faith Lutheran Church in Durant with Pastor Roger Speers officiating and Pastor Jerry Peterson assisting.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kaye Hemphill and Joe, son Crandon Haddock and wife, Janette, son David Haddock and wife, Susan. She was Nannie to grandchildren Nikki, Jason, Jared, Natalie, Beverly, Tanner, and Ashley. Eleven great-grandchildren who also loved her. Sister-in-law, Linda Stewart and three nieces, her World Mission Builder family and so many others.

The deceased members are her beloved husband, parents, and a brother Ed Stewart.

Memorial gifts can be made to Shriner Hospital for Cripple Children, 815 Market St., Galveston, Texas 77550 or Vision for Missions c/o Paul Wilson P.O. Box 609 Enid, Oklahoma 73702-0609.

"The family would like to extend their heartfelt love and appreciation to Candi and Cassie Bias and their family for their love, care, and devotion to Jane and Harold. Their sacrifices went above and beyond. The family will always cherish the love and friendship they gave during this difficult journey."
