Geneva Mae "Gina" Groomes

Geneva Mae "Gina" Groomes
June 8, 1969 ~ January 22, 2026

Geneva Mae "Gina" Groomes, a compassionate caregiver and creative soul, passed away on January 22, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 56. A resident of Oologah, Oklahoma, Gina was known for her generous heart, her vibrant spirit, and a friendly nature that ensured she never knew a stranger.

Gina was born on June 8, 1969, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to John C. Groomes and Bessie M. Hall. She grew up in the area and was a proud graduate of the Dewey High School Class of 1987. Following her graduation, Gina dedicated her life to the service of others, working for many years as a caregiver and home health aide. She took great pride in working alongside her mother at the Bartlesville Care Center, where her kindness and patience touched the lives of countless residents and their families.

Beyond her professional life, Gina was an incredibly creative individual. She found great joy in designing custom tumblers, t-shirts, and stickers, often sharing her unique creations with those she loved. She had a deep passion for photography and was rarely seen at a family gathering or community event without her camera in hand, ensuring that every memory was preserved. Gina also had a profound love for country music and cherished her many "fur babies," who were a constant source of happiness in her home. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and laughter.

Gina was preceded in death by her father, John C. Groomes; her mother, Bessie M. Hall; her son, Jack Tyler Walker; her nieces, Dawn R. Groomes, Vanessa A. Groomes; and Cloey A. Groomes, and her nephew, Jonathan M. Buskirk.

She is survived by her fiancé, Wayne Mooney of Oologah, and his children; her own children, Monte Groomes, John Walker, and Garth Walker and his wife Shasta, all of Bartlesville; and several beloved grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Wes Groomes and his wife Sharon of Dewey, Doc Groomes of Bartlesville, and Mickey Groomes and his family of Copan, as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss her dearly.

The family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date and time.
