Memorial Services for Rev. Oliver Joe Gordon, 74, of the Wiley Community, near Milburn, Oklahoma, will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. in the Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastors Perry, Huff, Davis and Morrison officiating.

A private family burial will be held at a later date. Rev. Gordon passed away on July 22nd at his home with his wife by his side.

Joe was born on May 2, 1937 in Wiley, Oklahoma to Ishmael Gordon and Sedonia Lewis Gordon. He served in the United States Army and later with the Oklahoma Army National Guard, retiring with 25 years of service. He was a minister for many years, most recently at the Sardis Baptist Church. Joe married Virginia Turner on June 20, 1997 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of this area.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Julenne Finley, Dorrell Gordon and Juanita Williamson.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Virginia; six children, DeWayne Gordon & his wife Barbara, Sonya Holmes & her husband Willie, Saundra Skates Williams, Angie Lane & her husband Virgil and Danny Gordon & his wife Melissa, Orlenna Lipscomb, his step-son, Derrick Turner; four brothers, Isiah Gordon & his wife Helen, Lincoln Gordon & his wife Faye, Ralph Gordon & his wife Margaret and Cleo Gordon; two sisters, Ethel Lee Casey and LaVada Jefferies; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. As well as, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
