SFC (Retired) Walter W. Goodiell

July 31, 1955 ~ July 23, 2019

SFC (Retired) Walter W. Goodiell, age 63, of Lawton passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Walter was born on July 31, 1955 in Elgin, Illinois to Walter and Shirley (Brunner) Goodiell. He joined the United States Army on June 29, 1973 and proudly served his country for twenty-two tears before retiring on June 30, 1995. While in the Army, Walter received numerous awards, medals and commendations.

On December 21, 1977 he married Linda Smith and they would spend the next forty-one wonderful years together. In his free time, Walter enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Shirley Goodiell, he is survived by his wife Linda Goodiell of Lawton and two sisters, Paula Davidson and Karen Tomlinson both of Elgin, Illinois along with numerous other relatives and close friends.
