Eloise Vines Gooden

A memorial and special services were held Friday, February 11th, in Oklahoma City, at Community Lighthouse Church of the Pentecostal Ministry Inc. Bishop George W. Woodard Jr., founder and presiding official.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held Thursday, February 17, 2005, 11:00 a.m., at New Life Center, A Four Square Church, 4201 Stine Rd. (NW corner of the intersection at White Ln. and Stine Rd.) Bakersfield, CA for Missionary Eloise Vines Gooden who was called into eternity early Wednesday morning, February the 9th. Pastor Charles Barefield Sr. of Lilly Of The Valley C.O.G.I.C. in Bakersfield, CA will officiate services with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Missionary Eloise Vines Gooden was a native of Ozan, Arkansas later moving to Kern County City of Arvin then later to the city of Bakersfield in the 1940s. Missionary Gooden was affiliated with numerous organizations in the community and was a District Missionary for the Church of God in Christ serving faithfully in many capacities for many years.

She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her Homegoing, two daughters, Dorothy Hill and Brenda Oliver; three sons, Cleo Hopkins, Charles Slim Tillman and Gene Vines; two sons-in-law, Grady Hill and Barney Oliver; three daughters-in-law, Rosa Hopkins, Juanita Tillman and Bridget Vines; eleven grandsons, six granddaughters, forty-four great-grandchildren. The body of Christ and a host of other relatives and friends.
