Socorro Fraire Gomez was born June 27, 1941, in San Jose De Reyes, Durango, Mexico, to Guadalupe Fraire Palacio and Ludivina Gomez Castaneda. He died on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, OK, at the age of 83.
Socorro was raised in Mexico and migrated to the United States with his family. He married the former Mary Ann Perez on February 8, 1965, in Lubbock, TX. They eventually moved to Abilene, TX, and in 1986 they moved to Marietta, OK.
Socorro went to work as a young man and hard work is all he knew. If he was not working at his job, he would tinker around the house or mow his grass. He was not one to sit still, but on rare occasions when he did, he would relax by listening to music. Socorro loved spending time with his family and watching them grow up. He considered it as one of his greatest achievements.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Arnold Fraire; two brothers and one sister.
Left to cherish Socorro's memory are his wife, Mary Ann Fraire of the home; sons, Carlos Fraire and wife Radonna of Marietta, Arthur "Taco" Fraire of Marietta, and Arnaldo Fraire and wife Katy of Muenster, TX; grandchildren, Aaron Ray Fraire and significant other Tina Walden of Marietta, Jayson Cole Fraire and wife Zoey of Marietta, Joseph Fraire of Marietta, Arnold Fraire, Jr. and wife Laura of Montgomery, TX, Anna Bell Fraire-Ikard and husband Quinton of Hot Springs, AR, Priscilla Fraire of Montgomery, Logan Fraire of Marietta, and Carter Fraire of Muenster; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Fraire of Marietta, Arnold Fraire III of Montgomery, June Elizabeth Fraire of Montgomery, and Andrew Walden of Marietta; daughter-in-law, Anna Marie Fraire of Montgomery; brothers-in-law, Mike Perez and Vincent Perez and wife Julia, all of Lubbock; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
