Carolyn Joyce Matherly Glimp, was born July 24, 1941, to Virgil and Pauline Matherly. She passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025. Born with a spirited heart and a generous soul, Carolyn lived a life full of love, laughter, and service.
A proud graduate of Oilton High School, Class of 1959, Carolyn went on to marry the love of her life, Hulbert Earl Glimp, on February 5, 1966, at Silver City Free Will Baptist Church. From this union were born two children, Chris Dale, and Cheryl Kaye.
Carolyn was a faithful member of Drumright Free Will Baptist Church, where she found joy in fellowship and worship. Her commitment to community extended beyond the church walls—she was deeply involved in the PTA and the Women’s Free Will Baptist Association Auxiliary, serving as a regional clerk and treasurer with diligence and pride.
Known for her giving personality, Carolyn had a knack for “giving gifts” in the most endearing way. She loved bowling, playing cards, and shopping—especially QVC, which became a favorite pastime in her later years. Her generosity was unmatched; she lovingly cared for her elderly aunts and uncles, always putting others before herself.
Carolyn had a passion for travel, with Branson holding a special place in her heart. Whether on the road or at home, she brought warmth and joy to everyone around her.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her playful spirit, and her boundless love for family and friends.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Earl Glimp; children, Chris Glimp and wife Cynthia, and Cheryl Kaye Glimp-Small; grandchildren, Zachary Glimp, Christian Small and wife Tiffany, Carter Small, Jared Glimp, Elijah Glimp, Heather Cardneas and husband Xavier, Lilly McCullough, and Ian McCullough; and great-grandchildren, Everly Cardneas, Ophelia Hahn, Elliana Cardneas, and Bentley Glimp; one sister, Helen Geyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Howard Matherly, and daughter-in-law, Lori Glimp.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Drumright Free Will Baptist building fund. Services are scheduled for 1:30PM, Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Drumright Free Will Baptist Church.
