Betty Ruth Givens was born September 30th, 1946 in Waldron, Arkansas to Ralph and Ruth Givens. On Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, at the age of 79, Betty went fishing in heaven.
Betty moved with her family at the age of 5 and later began school in Hammon, Oklahoma. She graduated from Hammon High School with the class of 1964 and attended Aladdin Beauty College in Clinton, Oklahoma. Betty had numerous clients that she would go to their home. While Betty worked various jobs to provide for her family, most people in the community will remember Betty from United, Walmart, and being a waitress at Brown's Cafe' and also Cowboy Cafe'. In the later part of her working career, she was employed at the C-Store in Hammon, Oklahoma until her health forced her retirement. Any chance she got, you could find Betty and her children fishing at a farm pond or Clinton Lake. All throughout Betty's life, she always liked her coffee with four scoops of sugar.....which was equal to a couple tablespoons of sugar per scoop.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ginger Shelton and husband, Ed, and Bonnie Mooney and husband, Keith; brother, George Givens; sister-in-law, DaJauna Givens; one granddaughter, April Givens.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sherry Williams and Rob Odom, Ft. Cobb, OK; son, Kendall Givens and wife Christy, Elk City, OK; grandchildren, Azure, Maddy, Amber, Cade, Ashley, Christian, Hack, Roxann, Cody, and Vince; great grandchildren, Lucas, Lilly, Maeve, Kenedee, Karson, and Braxton; brother, Richard Givens; sister, Shirley Walker and husband, Jack; sister-in-law, Peggy Givens and a host of other relatives and friends.
