George Robert 'Bob' Gillespie

July 26, 1930 ~ August 15, 2007

George Robert 'Bob' Gillespie, 77, of Choctaw, Oklahoma went to meet his Lord on Wednesday evening, August 15, 2007. Born July 26, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to Clifton and Carolyn (Dennington) Gillespie.

George served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet engine mechanic during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, Bob continued to work at Tinker field as management engineer through civil service.

George was an accomplished HAM and MARS radio operator and loved to travel with his wife in their RV.

George was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John W. Gillespie.

He is survived by his bride of 45 years, Mary Gillespie; two brothers: Clifton C. Gillespie, Jr. and Donald E. Gillespie; sister, Mary E. Wrubel along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Visitation will be Sat. and Sun. from 8 am - 8 pm. The family would like to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday the 19th from 3 - 6 pm.
