James Joseph Gibson passed from this life on September 17, 2020, at 47 in Osage, Oklahoma.

James was born on July 20, 1973, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the son of Marion Paul and Sueanna Mae (Golden) Gibson. James grew up and attended school in Claremore, Inola, Ada, and later graduated in 1992. Following high school, James attended college at East Central University and the University of Utah. James graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in economics and journalism. James worked as a journalist for the Ada News and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Rolland. James resided in Sun City, Arizona, for over ten years, and for the past three years, he had been living in Tucson.

James enjoyed being outdoors. He liked being able to hike, camping, and mountain climbing. One of James’ favorite pastimes was to read. James had a photographic memory and was able to look at most landscape photos and give you the location. He was an animal lover, and his dogs were significant to him.

Survivors include his parents Sueanna Gibson of Owasso, Oklahoma, Marion Gibson of Owasso, Oklahoma, brother Michael Gibson of Jenks, Oklahoma, and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for James at www.chapman-black.com.
