Robert “Bear” Lyle Gazaway, resident of Ponca City, passed away on October 12, 2013. He was 63 years of age.  

Robert was born October 25, 1949 in Oklahoma City, the son of Walter Lyle Gazaway and Joanne Elberta (Helt) Gazaway. He grew up in Ponca City and attended Ponca City High School. He was currently employed by Butler Trucking Company at the time of his death.  

Robert was married to Linda Scott on March 23, 1970 and they were divorced in September of 1986. The couple had five children, Amanda Fink, Kristina, James, William Gazaway, of Ponca City, and John Gazaway of Wichita, Kansas; also included is his children’s half sister, Rebekah Ramsey. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; his sister, Kathleen Norton and her daughter Rose.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lyle and Joanne Gazaway; and his longtime companion Joyce Hamilton.

No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
