Nolan “Blake” Garrett was born to Nolan Garrett and Carol Permenter Garrett on September 14, 1992 in Austin TX. He passed away on February 8, 2026 in Tulsa OK. He was 33.
During his formative years, Blake exhibited a remarkable talent for the performing arts, participating in local plays and musical theater productions. His career as a child actor was marked by significant achievements, including leading roles in productions such as Daddy Warbucks in “Annie” and “Peanuts: A Charlie Brown Tribute”, among others. At the age of ten, Blake embarked on an International Tour with the arena show “Barney’s Colorful World.” His most notable breakthrough occurred in 2006, at the age of twelve, when he portrayed Plug in the movie “How to Eat Fried Worms.” This role earned him a Young Artist Award for Best Young Ensemble Cast.
In subsequent years, Blake made the decision to transition away from acting and embrace a more conventional childhood. He enrolled in Bethel Schools, where he found immense joy in participating in Football. He loved the camaraderie and shared experiences with his fellow football players and held a deep affection for this period of his life and cherishes the memories it created.
Those left behind are his Mother, Carol Garrett and Bonus-Mom Laura Puryear; Father and Step-mother Nolan and Susan Garrett; Brother Ryan Garrett and wife Alex; Sister Steph Sherer; Grandmother Sandra Burton; Uncle David Paul Burton and wife Annette; Uncles John Garret and Taylor Garrett and wife Sarah. Along with several close cousins and extended family members.Those welcoming him into Heaven are his Maternal Grandmother, Granny Frankie, Brother Nicholas Garrett, Paternal Grandparents Thomas and Cissy Garrett, His Pop David Burton; Uncles Marty Permenter and Terrance Burton. And his beloved dog, Rascal.
A memorial service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK, 74801, United States. The service is scheduled for February 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
