Elsie (Welch) Garrett

Dec. 14, 1918 ~ April 6, 2003

COMANCHE - Elsie Welch Garrett, 84, of Comanche died Sunday, April 6, 2003.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche with Rev. Harris officiating.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Comanche. Elsie was born Dec. 14, 1918, in Hastings, to Luther and Minnie Brantley Welch.

She married Homer O. Garrett on Dec. 18, 1936.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn Jo and Dan Merrell of Midlothian, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey and Sue Garrett of Comanche and Tom and Meron Garrett of Longview, Texas; three sisters, Elva Cooper, Mildred Wilkinson and Lois Warner, all of California; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; a son, Homer O. Garrett Jr.; her parents; and two brothers.

Bearers will be her grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chisholm Trail Hospice.
