Bertha Frances (Paris) Garberich

Funeral services for Bertha Frances Garberich will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at a later date at the Hope Cemetery near Ark City, Kansas, under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Bertha Frances Garberich, daughter of the late Arthur Henry and Mary Katherine (Murrow) Paris, was born September 20, 1921, near Dacoma, Oklahoma. She passed away November 6, 2018, in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 97 years, 1 month and 17 days.

Bertha worked in Alva and Enid before moving to Wichita, Kansas, in 1971. On May 18, 1971, she was united in marriage to Mike Garberich in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She and Mike lived in Wichita until Mike's death on September 29, 1986. She then moved back to Enid to be near her family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Verlin Paris, Merlin Paris, DeVerl Paris, Henry Paris, and Darl Paris; three sisters, Velma Whittet, Maxine Veley, and Minerva Simmons; three nieces; one nephew; one stepson; and one son-in-law.

She is survived by her daughter, Fran Schofield and husband, John; two grandchildren, John and Jennifer Schofield; her sister-in-law, Luana Paris; one step-daughter, Barbara Cox; one step-son, Jim Garberich; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to The Arbors Assisted Living Center in Enid.
