May 19, 1942 ~ October 8, 2020 (age 78)

Calvin Joe "Doc" Gann passed from this life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on October 8, 2020. He was born in Stanford, Texas on May 19, 1942 to WD and Ardney (Burleson) Gann.

Calvin graduated from Anson High School, Anson, Texas 1960, football team manager, voted most handsome and FFA Sweetheart, Married Beth Crager on January 18, 1962 in Aspermont, Texas, Graduated with a BS in Animal Husbandry and a member of the Data Delta Theta Alpha at Abilene Christian College, Abilene TX in 1965. Calvin began a career with the Soil Conservation Service as a Soil Technician in Floydada, Tx, 1965 and worked for the Dunn Ranch in Fort Worth. He had huge a passion for ranching, In 1968 he moved his Texas family to Oklahoma where he would operate a 3000 acre ranch in Daisy, OK and continued his career with the Soil Conservation Service in Antlers, OK upon retiring in 2004. Calvin loved his family and went to extreme measures for them! He loved watching his children and grandchildren's activities, from showing livestock to attending basketball, baseball, t-ball games, etc. Calvin also enjoyed spending time raising cattle and doing veterinarian work, which is where he became know as "Doc" to the Daisy area! He also enjoyed playing golf and tennis along with watching the Dallas Cowboys football on tv.

He is preceded in death by his parents: WD and Ardney Gann; brother: Billy Dee Gann; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calvin is survived by his wife: Beth Gann of the home; children: Kevin Gann and wife Debra of Antlers, Oklahoma, Kam Harden and husband John of Soper, Oklahoma, Kay Hamman and husband Monty of Nashoba, Oklahoma, and Kaci Applegate and husband Michael of Paris, Texas; grandchildren: Hannah Wood and husband Dallas of Daisy, Oklahoma, Heather Hamman of Craig, Colorado, Deidre Elrod and husband Jared of Stringtown, Oklahoma, Mariah Ramos and husband Daniel of Wylie, Texas, Sheena Hamman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Monika Hamman of McAlester, Oklahoma, Zach Harden of Stuart, Oklahoma, Randy Hamman of Nashoba, Oklahoma, Andrew Applegate of Paris, Texas, and Elijah Applegate of Paris, Texas; great-grandchildren: Brady, Dalton, Emily, Judd, Dane, Jaevin, Davy Jack, Averi, and Jolyn.

Funeral services for Calvin will be held 2 PM Monday October 12, 2020 at the Antlers First Baptist Church with Reverend Aaron Reed officiating.

Pallbearers will be Clint Hutson, Chris Hutson, Tracy Joslin, Whalen Hutson, Bruce Bacon and James "Jim Bo" Covert. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Davis, Dewey Hatcher, Larry Joslin, Bill Markum, Leon Williams and Steve Mornhinweg.

Family night will be Sunday October 11, 2020 from 6 to 8 PM at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
