Ada Mae (Mitchell) Fox
May 04, 1929 ~ August 22, 2019

Ada Mae Mitchell, Habekot, Fox was an only child born to Marvin and Marcie Linn Mitchell on May 4th 1929 at Peek, Oklahoma. She departed this earthly life on August 22nd, 2019 at Shattuck Nursing Center in Shattuck, Oklahoma surrounded by her kids.

She attended a few years of school at Blackwell, Oklahoma and continued her education at a country school in the Peek/Packsaddle community after the family moved back to be closer to other family.

As a child she helped her Dad with many farming chores. Her Mom suffered a stroke, when she was very young so she did many household chores as well. She married Virgel Lester Habekott and nine children born to this union.

She was a young widow raising 8 kids after Virgel died. A few years later she married Charles Henry Fox. They made their home in Lipscomb and together raised her kids to adulthood. Charles was a wonderful help mate to her and a very loving husband and stepdad to her kids.

She is survived by 7 of her children, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Virgel and her husband Charles, 2 sons, an infant and Butch (19yrs), 2 grandsons, Michael Douglas Newhouse(infant) and Josh Habekott (21yrs) and a son-in-law, Jack Newhouse.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Church of the Nazarene in Higgins, TX. Burial followed at Lipscomb Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Nazarene in Higgins c/o Shaw Funeral Home, P.O. Box 276, Vici, OK 73859.
