Alva "Boyd" Fortenberry, age 63, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Tuesday, February 13, 1962, to Alva Ray and Agnes Neoma (Graham) Fortenberry, at Atoka, OK. Boyd passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Lane, OK. He attended Tushka Public Schools and graduated from Atoka High School with the class of 1980. Boyd worked as a butcher for Rogers Food Market for years in Cartwright and later was involved in the family business as a house mover. He served our country in the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
He married Regina Bridges to which 2 children were born. Boyd was raised in the Baptist faith and attended Tushka Baptist Church where he was baptized. He enjoyed making knives, collecting rocks and rusty art, loved to dance and hunt for rocks.
Boyd is survived by his sons, Devian Fortenberry and wife Danielle of Cartwright, TX, Dillon Fortenberry and friend Tiffany Whiteside of Cartwright, TX; grandchildren, Alison, Finley and Dawson Fortenberry of Cartwright, TX; siblings, Tammy Herring and husband Shriver of Atoka, OK, Brad Fortenberry and wife Pam of Atoka, OK, Rocky Nevada Fortenberry of North Dakota, Nikki Nicole Fortenberry of Checotah, OK; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Alva Ray and Agnes Neoma
(Graham) Fortenberry; sister, Lisa Hyde; brother, Allen Lee Bartells.
