Clyde Larry “Dewa” Fisher

Clyde Larry “Dewa” Fisher
April 26, 1961 ~ April 18, 2025

Clyde Larry “Dewa” Fisher was born on April 26, 1961, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Mary Jane (Chicken) and Clifford Fisher, Sr. Surrounded by his loving family, Clyde passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 18, 2025, just days before his 64th birthday.

A lifelong resident of the Locust Grove area, Clyde graduated from Locust Grove High School with the Class of 1980. His given Cherokee name was “Dewa”, with most pronouncing it “Dale”, he was also known by Clyde, Larry, and Poppy. He was most affectionately called “Sweetheart” by the love of his life, Sharon Little. The two began their journey together on January 11, 1995, and spent over 30 cherished years side by side.

Clyde was a hardworking man who dedicated himself to providing for his family. He lived in Seminole for over three years, working with asbestos in Oklahoma City. After the passing of his father, Clyde and Sharon returned to Locust Grove to be near his mother. Over the years, he worked at Pryor Truss, ZebCo, and in construction with the Leach family.

Music played a central role in Clyde’s life. A gifted musician, he was especially known for his talents as a drummer and vocalist. Early on, he had a deep appreciation for classic rock, with The Beatles being his all-time favorite band. After giving his life to Christ on April 26, 2022, and being baptized on Father’s Day that same year, his musical passion shifted toward Christian music—especially loving King & Country and TobyMac.

Clyde shared his musical gifts with the Christian band Covered By The Blood, traveling and performing across the country—from Colorado to Michigan as well as South Dakota. He was a part of His Way Fellowship for many years, where Pastor Mary Jane Austin played a significant role in his faith journey. For the past six years, he had been a part of Little Rock Baptist Church.

A man of many joys, Clyde found happiness in simple pleasures. He took great pride in caring for his yard and treasured every moment spent with Sharon and his family. Known for his kind heart and easygoing nature, Clyde never met a stranger. He had no enemies and loved his children deeply and unconditionally. His presence will be missed, but his legacy of love, music, and faith will live on.

Clyde is survived by: his love, Sharon, of the home; 8 children: Charlotte Henderson and husband Barry of Kenwood, Oklahoma, Marcus Fisher and wife Shawn of Colcord, Oklahoma, Christopher Fisher of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Justin McGirt and fiancé` Kelly Ahrens of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dustin Little and wife Alysha of Pryor, Oklahoma, Krista Dunegan and husband Jeff of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, Jeremy McGirt and wife Feather of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Mary Hame of Decatur, Illinois; 21 Grandchildren: Ateyvea, Braxin, Zayne, Jada, Macy, Ashton, Tryston, Julian, Kaleb, Kieshia, Daityn, Kylee, Maicee, Canton, Hadley, Remington, OakLee, Nova Lynn, Rocket, Abby, and Remington; 4 great grandchildren: Remington, Vincente`, Amria, and Aaliyah—with Ivory and Ania soon to arrive.
