Louis Douglas Ewing
September 2, 1930 ~ June 14, 2018

Doug Ewing, age 87 of Wayne, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018.

Louis Douglas Ewing was born September 2, 1930 in Wayne, the oldest of two children born to Ray and Sally Ewing.

 Doug was raised a farm boy, and learned at a very early age the value of hard work. On August 19, 1950, he married Maurine Larman, and together they raised 3 daughters, RaeLean, Joyce and Wanda.

For several years, Doug worked as a truck driver, logging many miles. He later worked for General Motors, retiring as Supervisor. When not working, you could find Doug on his farm. He loved his land, working his cattle and spending time in his garden. He later married Claudene Henson, on August 5, 1999 in Eureka Springs. Doug was a gentle man; a good listener and a great friend. He was a man of great faith and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Purcell. He will be dearly missed!


He was preceded in death by:
        His daughter,  RaeLean Isbill;
        Grandson,        Jody Isbill;
        Son-in-law,     Sid Isbill;
        1st wife,           Maurine Ewing;
        His parents,     Ray and Sally Ewing and
        Niece,      Jan Blunck    
 
Doug is survived by:
        His wife, Claudene of the home;
        Two daughters,       Joyce Mooi of Wayne and
                Wanda Newkirk and husband Kenneth of Norman;
        Step children,  Steve Henson and wife Ann of Fort Worth;
                Mike Henson and wife Beth of Wanette,
        Scott Henson and wife D'Linda of Texoma;
        Teresa Hackney and husband Rodger of Purcell and
        Tammy Roberts of Maysville;
        Sister,      Corelean Higgins of Norman;
4 grandchildren,      Larry Henderson, Cherrie Butler,
        Susie Goodman and Joyce Wehurn;
7 great grandchildren,
9 step grandchildren;      Chelsea Henson, Matthew Henson, Rachel Dugas, Jeni Willoughby, Jason Henson, Brandon Hackney, Shannon Waltz, Derick Boatright and Dillon Boatright;     
10 step great grandchildren;
Nephew,  Mike Higgins, and a host of other family and friends.
