William Cleo Evans

Apr. 28, 1923 ~ Mar. 7, 2005

Funeral services will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home of Wasco on Thursday, March 10, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at the McFarland Pentecostal Church of God for William Cleo Evans, age 81, of Delano, who passed away on March 7, 2005, in Delano. Pastor Terry Ruddell will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.

Cleo Evans was born April 28, 1923, in Oklahoma, the son of Ervin and Earlby Evans. He was raised in Oklahoma. He married Frankie Reeves in Martha, OK on January 1, 1944 and they moved to Delano in 1946. He worked in farm labor for the Merit family for the last 15 years of his career. He was a hard worker and loved woodworking and gardening. He attended the Pentecostal Church of God in McFarland.

Cleo is survived by his daughters, Barbara Bowles and husband, Nick of Tranquility and Nelda McLaughlin and husband, Lawrence of McFarland; brothers, Odell Evans and wife, Alphia of Bakersfield and Ron Evans and wife, Linda of Georgia; sister, Ruth Haws and husband, John of Des Moines, Iowa; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Frankie L. Evans.
