Virginia Ann (Funk) Evans
October 1, 1954 ~ July 3, 2021

The Memorial Services Celebrating and Honoring the life of Virginia Ann Evans, 66, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 10th 2021 in the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Cushing. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.

Virginia was born October 1, 1954 to Robert Funk and Anna (Richardson) Funk in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed from this life July 3, 2021 in Enid, Oklahoma.

She graduated from Antlers High School with the class of 1972. She then attended Southeastern State Univ where she met Rick and graduated from Langston University with her bachelor's degree in Education. She married Rick Evans March 12, 1973 in Durant, Oklahoma, from this union came two children, Jessica and Phillip. She made her career in teaching and taught at the junior high and high school levels in Sapulpa, Morrison, Stroud, and Broken Arrow. She absolutely loved to teach however more than anything she loved her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Rick Evans, of the home, two children Jessica Brooke and Husband Ozgur, of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and Phillip Evans and wife Anna, of Cushing; and five grandchildren, Sean and Ayden of Oakville and Gunner, Ethan, and Brooks of Cushing, her brother Robert Funk of Oklahoma City and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be given in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital with Palmer Marler Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
