Phillip Dean Estle

Phillip Dean Estle
July 7, 1936 ~ May 15, 2021

Phillip Dean Estle was born the second son of Fred Estle, Jr. and Mildred (Haught) Estle on July 7, 1936. He passed away on May 15, 2021 at the age of 84 in Okeene. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sharon Cochran officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date.

Growing up on the farm east of Sharon. Dean attended school at Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School in 1955. As a young boy, he worked on the family farm. He always had a big dog (Ruffs) by his side. He would tie his fishing rod to Ruffs and they would head to the creek. That worked out good for Dean to let ruffs carry his fishing gear, until Ruffs seen a rabbit and there went the fishing rod.

On March 24, 1956 he was married to Irene Watson at the Sharon Methodist Church. To this union four children were born Ronnie Dean, Sandra Kay, Nancy Ann and Jeanice Fay.

Dean and Irene were married 64 years. Dean worked in Guymon, the Cowman clothing factory and worked for G.O. Williams for 18 years. He and Irene started farming and ranching in 1972 after his father became ill.

Dean enjoyed hunting coyotes, fishing, farming and his livestock, also watching the Thunder Basketball games. He would spend hours on a lake fishing.

After living in Sharon for 42 years Dean and Irene moved to Canton to be close to the lake and to fish with grandkids and friends. They returned back to the farm in 2007.

Dean never cared much for his first name, until his first grandson was named Phillip, then it all changed.

Dean is preceded in death by his wife Irene of 64 years, his son Ronnie Dean, parents Fred and Mildred Estle, two brothers Jimmy and Bud Estle, in-laws Wilber and Eithel Watson, grandparents and one son-in-law.

Dean loved his family, he leaves to cherish his memory three daughters: Sandra Wilcox and husband Ed, Nancy Longhofer and husband Larry and Jeanice Taylor; grandchildren: Phillip, Todd, Jennifer, and Tina Mullins, Levi and Cindy Spencer, Tyson, Trent, and Trevor Taylor; 15 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Virginia Ham and husband Gary; other family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon United Methodist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
