On November 26, 2025, at the age of 83, Dawson Allen Engle (D.A.) passed away peacefully in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
There are no plans for a public memorial service; instead, the family will hold a private burial.
Born in Shawnee to Dawson Wesley Engle and Alice Mae Engle, D.A., along with his two older sisters, grew up in several towns in Oklahoma, and he graduated from Nowata High School.
After receiving a BS from Oklahoma State University, he worked for Conoco in Ponca City, where he met his wife, Kathy Sue Engle. The couple eventually settled in the suburban area of Yukon and Mustang.
He was a jazz aficionado; a collector of chess sets; an admirer of Corvettes, including his own; a fan of Oklahoma State wrestling; and an enthusiast of Cajun food, especially Oysters Bienville. But his true devotion was to his two surviving children, Dawson Rolland Engle and Kristine Sue Ervin, who loved him fiercely.
Cremation arrangements under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
