Daniel Joseph Engel, 27, of Norman, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016. He was born May 9, 1988, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Michael Engel and Debra Hilton Engel.

He is survived by his parents, his sister Sarah Engel-Barnett and her family, all of Norman, and his grandmother Thelma Engel, of New York, and his grandparents Arleigh and Arlene Hilton, of North Carolina. He will also be greatly missed by all of his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He graduated from Norman High School, was an Eagle Scout, and attended the University of Oklahoma.

He loved his friends, his family, and was a kind, gentle, selfless, and warm-hearted man. We love him and we will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Dan's name to Food and Shelter For Friends of Norman, Oklahoma, http://www.foodandshelterinc.org/#about .

Arrangements for Daniel were placed in the care of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. A celebration of life will be held to honor Dan's memory on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00am.
