Bobby Gene Edwards, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away in Pryor, Oklahoma, on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on August 6, 1942, in Pryor, Bobby lived a life rich with passion, dedication, and love for his family.

Bobby married the love of his life, Theresa Pinkerton, on August 16, 1963. Their nearly 62 years of marriage were characterized by deep affection and unwavering support for one another. He was a devoted husband who cherished his time spent with Theresa and showed a remarkable commitment to their partnership throughout their years together. Bobby was a resilient Christian, a member of the First Baptist Church of Pryor, and a father figure to many young men.

Professionally, Bobby had a successful career as a millwright mechanic with American Airlines, where he showcased his remarkable skills in mechanics. Known for his expertise, he was not only a talented mechanic but also took pleasure in welding, fixing cars, and building train engines. His love for automobiles and mechanics extended beyond his professional life, as he often engaged in drag racing, stock car racing, and dune buggy racing. In addition to his hands-on pursuits, Bobby enjoyed coaching his sons during their formative years, instilling in them the values of hard work and determination.

Beyond his mechanical talents, Bobby found joy in working in his auto salvage business in the Barn. His hobbies encompassed a variety of interests, especially mowing the yard, a task that he approached with great pride.

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa Edwards, of the home, his sons Shawn Edwards of Ramona, Oklahoma, and Corey Edwards, along with his wife Heather, of Locust Grove, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Margaret Edwards of Pryor, Oklahoma; grandchildren Chandler Edwards, Macee Edwards, Gage Edwards, Taylor Manning, Jay Coaltrain, and Jasmine Coaltrain; and a great-grandchild, Lydia Edwards.

Bobby will be dearly missed by his family and friends, who remember him not only for his love for fixing things that were broken, but also for his loving spirit and the unwavering dedication he showed to those closest to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary (Parsons) Edwards; his brother, Laurin Edwards; mother-in-law, Willa Dean Reardon; father-in-law, Dr. C.B. Pinkerton, MD; and nephew, David Blackwell.
