Joseph “Joe” Scott Earles departed this life on November 15, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 68. He was born on April 15, 1957, in Oakland, California, to Arnold “Pete” and Patsy (Mason) Earles.
Since 2010, Joe proudly managed a thrift store in Broken Arrow. Before this, he spent time as a semi-truck driver. Joe found great pleasure in the thrill of the casino and relished in the opportunity to travel, exploring new places. Joe had a way of turning ordinary moments into memorable ones with his quick wit and humor. His jokes and famous hugs will be missed.
Joe is survived by a loving and devoted family. His legacy is carried on by his son Jason Earles and wife LaDonna of Durant, his cherished bonus daughters Amy Wiskus and husband James, alongside Leah Burns. His warmth will forever be felt in the hearts of his grandchildren Garrett Earles, Ashton Harrison, and husband Koby, all of Durant, and his bonus grandchildren Lindsay, Lacey, Olivia, and Landon. He is also survived by his brothers Mark Earles and his wife Regina of Sherman, Texas, Jeff Earles with his wife Jamie of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Matt Earles alongside his wife Barbara of Durant; he also leaves behind his caring sister, Sheri Grider of Durant. Throughout life God brings us brothers and sisters. Notably for Joe, that was David Forbes and Mike Agnew, who, along with many others from the HOW foundation, became family in spirit. Also surviving Joe are numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Preceding Joe in death were his parents, Arnold “Pete” and Patsy Earles, his beloved wife Joy Spencer, and his son Evan Earles.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at First Baptist Church Durant with Brother Tommy Green officiating.
