Wilma Jean "Tootsie" (Thomas) Dunning
March 12, 1929 ~ December 16, 2018

Wilma Jean "Tootsie" Dunning age 89 of Newcastle, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 16, 2018. She was born March 12, 1929 in Newcastle and was the youngest of eight children born to William A. Thomas and Fannie F. (Hodges) Thomas. Tootsie grew up a farm girl and learned how to work hard as a young girl. She attended Newcastle schools until her junior year, and then moved to California. She later moved back to Newcastle where she married her love of her life, Roy Alton Dunning. They were married on Jan. 15, 1948, and to this union, they raised one daughter, Carol.

Tootsie worked as a homemaker and as a dairy farmer's wife. Besides being a mother and wife, she worked alongside Roy on the dairy farm. Together they milked cows, picked cotton and did daily chores around the farm for over 50 years.

Tootsie was a faithful Christian and for many years was a member of the Newcastle First Baptist Church. For the past 15 years she and Roy have been members of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Tootsie enjoyed staying busy and working with her hands. She loved crocheting, sewing and working in her flower gardens. She was a wonderful cook; she liked feeding her hummingbirds and was a member of the Newcastle Home Demonstration Club for over 35 years. Throughout her life, she and Roy enjoyed traveling all over the United States. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by:
Parents,                William and Fannie Thomas.
Six brothers and one sister.

She is survived by:
Husband,              Roy Dunning of the home in Newcastle.
Daughter,             Carol Grover and husband Ronnie of Newcastle.
One sister-in-law,                   Ruth Hirsch of Dallas, TX.
Two grandchildren,       Greg Grover and wife Kris of Newcastle, Gina Morgan of Newcastle.
Four great grandchildren,       Coy and Ashley Grover, Nicole Lee and Kaitlyn Morgan.
Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation time with family and friends will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home, 3132 Tri City Ave, in Newcastle, OK.

Funeral Services will be 10:00am Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle, 313 South Hwy 76, Newcastle, OK, 73065.

Memorial donations may be made to the Woodland Hills Building Fund.
