Cheryl Ann (Acosta) Dunn
July 25, 1966 ~ May 20, 2022

Cheryl (Acosta) Dunn, 55 year old Yukon resident and former Woodward resident, went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2022 after a courageous 26 year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at Crown Heights Baptist Church at 2803 Maple Avenue, Woodward. Services are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home and will conclude at the church.

Cheryl Ann (Acosta) Dunn was born on July 25, 1966 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Gilbert and Clarita (Gillilan) Acosta. Along with her siblings, they roamed and ruled the area around 1208 Oak Street. She was raised in Crown Heights Baptist Church making a public profession of faith and following the Lord in believer's baptism on November 11, 1982. Cheryl received her education in the Woodward Public Schools, graduating with the Senior Class of 1984. She furthered her education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.

Cheryl and Terry Lee Dunn were united in marriage at Crown Heights Baptist Church before Brother P.E. Tapp on September 9, 1990. Two children, Catherine Mae and Jacob Lee were born to this union. She went to work for the city of Yukon in 1991 gradually rising to the position of 1st Deputy City Treasurer. She took medical retirement on August 20, 2021.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Don Henry Acosta, her grandparents, Oran and Thelma Gillilan and Jim and Myrtle Acosta.

Those she leaves behind are: her husband Terry Dunn of the home; her children, Catherine and Jacob of the home; her parents, Gilbert and Clarita Acosta of Woodward; siblings, Cindy Drake and husband George of Covington, Sandy Dershem and husband Michael of Yale, Terry Acosta and wife Kim of Woodward, Neal Acosta and wife Heather of Oklahoma City, and Jane Poage of Yukon; mother-in-law, Bonita Boston of Woodward; sisters-in-law, Tammy Lind of Oklahoma City, Tina Nunley and husband Danny of Mooreland, Ruthie Bryan and husband Terry of Woodward, Gene Dunn and wife Misti of Woodward; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

After the service the family will be in the church fellowship hall for dessert, coffee and visitation for anyone that would like to join them.
