Pearl Eva (Walker) Dunlap

April 23, 1908 ~ December 1, 2004

Pearl Eva Dunlap passed away peacefully at her home in New Braunfels on Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at the age of 96.

She was born on April 23, 1908, in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, to George W. Walker and Amanda Jane Mathis Walker.

Mrs. Dunlap later married William S. Dunlap, Jr. on April 24, 1938 in Salina, Kansas.

During her professional career, Mrs. Dunlap worked as a teacher at Holy Cross Lutheran School in Wichita, Kansas, and the former Institute of Logapedics at Wichita. Early in her career, she owned a caf� in Russell, Kansas, and later farmed with her husband in Altoona, Kansas.

They later moved to Ellinwood, Kansas, before settling in Wichita, where she received a bachelor's degree from Friends University.

She was a member of the Eastern Star as well as a member of the First Protestant Church Women's Fellowship Grace Circle.

Pearl is preceded in death by her husband, William S. Dunlap, Jr., who passed away on November 5, 1986, and by her five siblings and one son-in-law, Archie Ladshaw.

She is survived by her children, Mary Jane Dunlap of Lawrence, Kansas; Martha L. Bogle of New Braunfels; William S. Dunlap, III and wife, Joyce of Topeka, Kansas; and Nancy E. Ladshaw of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Amber L. Bogle-Jelich and husband, Ron of Greensboro, North Carolina; Joe O. Haines, II and wife Lisete of Cypress, Texas; Stuart Bogle of Wichita, Kansas; William G. "Shep" Dunlap IV of Austin, Texas; Judy Taylor and husband, Lee of Arlington, Texas; John Ladshaw and wife, Liz of New Braunfels, Texas; Theresa Davis and husband, Larry also of New Braunfels; and Andrea McBride and husband, Christopher of Westford, Vermont; great grandchildren, Joe "Jody" O. Haines, III, Austin W. Haines, Haley M. Haines, all of Cypress, Texas; Zenobia Taylor of Austin; Aspen Taylor of New York City, New York; Leeah Taylor of Arlington; Genie Eubanks and husband, Weiss of Austin; Andrew Ladshaw of New Braunfels; Elliott and Phoebe McBride of Westford, Vermont; sister-in-law, Lizbeth Davis of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at First Protestant Church with Rev. Daryl Higgins officiating.

Burial will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
