Elizabeth Lorain Dunlap

Feb 14, 1935 ~ Jul 18, 2013

Elizabeth Lorain Dunlap was born at her parent's home in rural Roger Mills County, west of Berlin, Oklahoma on February 14, 1935. She was one of 14 children, with eight brothers and five sisters. Her parents were Jesse Marvin and Alta Elizabeth Dunlap. She departed this world on July 18, 2013, at Mangum, Oklahoma.

Throughout her life, Elizabeth was known by many names, including Mother, Aunt Dane, Granny, Sis, Nanny, and Beautiful. Regardless of the name of affection, she lived a life of caring for everyone else and keeping her own needs at the bottom of her list.

Unfortunately, Elizabeth was widowed in the early 1960s, yet she managed to raise three loving and caring children, mostly as a single parent. All of her life, she constantly had an open door for anyone that needed a bed, a meal, clean clothes, an ear, or whatever else a generous woman could provide.

She is survived by her children, Sherrana Sadler of Oklahoma City, LaMesa & Eric Yarborough of Mangum, and Steven Cooke of Mangum; seven grandchildren (Brittany Yarborough, Cindy Lea, Michael Sadler, MaRanda Beeson, Seth Yarborough, Tiffany Yarborough, and Zachary Yarborough; and, four great grandchildren (Gus Beeson, Hailey Sadler, Sunny Sadler, and Vanessa Beeson).

In keeping with Elizabeth's last wishes, there will be no formal services. She lived a simple life and plainly wanted it kept that way. She undoubtedly knew the path to Heaven was through Jesus Christ, her lord and savior, and she was unafraid to take the journey.

She was not fond of cut flowers, yet Elizabeth cherished the beauty of a living rose.

If you wish to acknowledge Elizabeth Lorain Dunlap, a donation to the Mangum Public Library, cancer, juvenile diabetes, or even giving to a school for supplies for children would be a wonderful tribute. She would love the fact that others will benefit from her reaching the ultimate corridor to the next life.

Online tributes may be made to the family at www.greerfuneral.com
