Earlene Sue (Glass) Duncan

Earlene Sue (Glass) Duncan
October 26, 1936 ~ January 28, 2022

Earlene Sue (Glass) Duncan was born at home in Gerty, Oklahoma on October 26, 1936 – the third and last child to Earl Cromwell Glass and Arloene ‘Betty’ (Carroll) Glass. Sue and her family moved between Southern California and Oklahoma during her youth. She married Richard Earl Johnson in Los Angeles, California on September 16, 1955, at the age of 18. Of this union, four children were born: Richard Lee Johnson, Michael Charles Johnson, Susan Carol Johnson, and baby Johnson.

Sue later married her high school sweetheart – Troy Leon Duncan in Dallas, Texas on June 6, 1977, at the age of 40, and although Troy suffered an untimely death and widowed Sue just three years and seventeen days into their marriage, she maintained his last name and held him close to her heart for the next 41 years.

Sue eventually settled in Oklahoma and spent the majority of her last twenty years in Bartlesville, Oklahoma – where all three of her adult children also made their homes. Sue enjoyed baking for her family and even wrote her own cookbook which is cherished by her children and grandchildren. Most days, you would find Sue playing Scrabble with her faithful friend of many years, Carol Hugo. Sue was a member of Memorial Christian Church in Bartlesville.

Sue is survived by her children Michael Johnson, Susan (Johnson) Snyder, Richard Johnson and wife Mary; grandchildren Crystal Carpenter-Hall and wife Samantha, Richard Johnson, Derick Snyder, Daniel Snyder and wife Trisha, James Johnson, Joshua Chase; and six great-grandchildren Skylar Johnson, Bella Johnson, Nathaniel Hall, Emmett Snyder, Wyatt Snyder, and Ellie Snyder.

She is preceded in death by her husband Troy Duncan, her parents, Earl and Betty Glass, brother Earl Charles Glass, infant sibling Glass, nephew Earl ‘EC’ Glass, niece Deborah Sue Glass, infant child Johnson, and her beloved dogs Panda and Taco.

Sue will be missed dearly by her family and her loving chihuahuas, including Nugget, who has been her faithful companion for the last 14 years.
