Betty Jo (Tinsley) Duhon

Betty Jo (Tinsley) Duhon
November 18, 1927 ~ October 11, 2019

Betty Jo Duhon was born November 18, 1927 in Muskogee, Oklahoma the daughter of Joseph Bass and Surilda Margaret (Nichol) Tinsley. On August 10, 1948 she married Milton Duhon in the Jennings, Louisiana Christian Church by Hollins Duhon (brother).

Betty Jo was a homemaker, helping raise four children, also a minister’s wife for 57 years when Milton retired. She was a member of the Christian Church (Independent). She enjoyed many handcrafts sewing, embroidery, counted cross stich, crochet, knitting and tatting. In 1990 she began quilting, making over a dozen quilts plus two for the NWOK Blood Institute, Enid. In 2001 she began another hobby- Scrapbooking the family pictures, starting with Grandparents (Vanus Errett Tinsley) wedding pictures from 1887.

At 91 years young, October 11, 2019 she passed away at Garland Road Nursing Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

She is survived by brothers Dale and Howard Tinsley; sons Ray (Tammy), Joe (Alfreda), and Charles; daughter Deborah. Five grandchildren Amber, Kaven (Shannon), Bethany (Trever), Joshua and Justin; four great grandchildren Addison, Isaiah, Melani, and Evelyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband Milton in 2009.
