Lewell Wayne Driskill

February 12, 1934 ~ October 11, 2005

Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Friday, October 14, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. for Lewell W. Driskill, 71. Rev. Scott Pearson, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Driskill was born on February 12, 1934, in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma and passed away on October 11, 2005, at his home in Taft.

Lew leaves behind his wife, Sharon, of 47 years; his four children, David and his wife, Lisa Driskill of Bakersfield; daughter, Gwyn Koszalka of Taft; daughter, Rebecca and her husband, Anthony Larsen of Taft; and son, John Driskill of Taft; his nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four brothers, Presley, Kenneth Gail, Deloy Driskill of Nevada, Joe Driskill of Idaho; and his sister, Carolyn Sullivan of Stockton, CA. Lew was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Lesley Driskill of Yerington, Nevada.

Lew had come to Taft from Yerington, Nevada to attend college. He worked in the oilfields to finance his college. He met and married his wife, Sharon. Lewell was semi-retired and the owner and operator of D&D Construction. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1952 and served until 1955. He took his training in Fort Benning, Georgia. He was in the 82nd Airborne and made 26 jumps and served in Japan and Korea.

Lew will be greatly missed by his family and friends. There are no visitation hours scheduled and the services are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
