Connie Jane (Stewart) Dowers

Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Connie Jane Dowers, 74, of Enid, Okla., will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with family friend, David Thorpe, officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date, with cremation under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Connie was born Jan. 6, 1940, the daughter of Lester and Ada Jack Stewart and passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, in Enid, Okla.

She was a graduate of Byron-Driftwood High School in 1958, and then attended Beach Beauty Academy, obtaining a degree in cosmetology.

Connie met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Dowers, when they attended beauty school. They were united in marriage July 10, 1959, in Byron, Okla.

Connie and Dick were self-employed hair dressers, working together for 43 years. They owned Tiara Hair Fashions, later known as All About Hair.

In 1997, they moved to Nash, Okla., where they enjoyed ranching and raising cattle. After Richard�s death on July 11, 2002, Connie continued raising cattle on the family ranch.

She was a member of First Christian Church of Nash. She also was a member of Enid Moose Lodge, where she enjoyed spending time with her friends. She loved to watch sports of all kinds, especially OU football. She will always be remembered as a loving �Mam-ma� and spunky, caring lady.

Survivors include a son, Kyle Dowers and wife Linda of Maysville, Okla.; daughter, Leslie Chance of Enid; four grandchildren, Riley Chance and his fianc�e Kaylee Smith, Evan Davis, Tanner Dowers and Cash Dowers; two great-grandchildren, Aubree and Kenden; and a sister, Vickie Cloyd of Byron, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Nash, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
