Alfred "Birch" Dowell
November 14, 1931 ~ April 6, 2018

A come-and-go Celebration of Life for Alfred "Birch" Dowell, 86, Enid, is 2-4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Sonrise Fellowship, 3302 N. Washington, Enid, with Pastor Mike Sommerfield officiating. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Birch was born November 14, 1931, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, the son of Perry and Laura Williams Dowell, and passed away April 6, 2018, in Enid.

He moved to Enid with his family at the age of three. He was a cab driver in Enid for 33 years, later working for Enid News & Eagle as a delivery driver for the mail room.

He married Lucille Vaverka who preceded him in passing. 

Survivors include his children, Leland Dowell, Marie Nafus, Gary Allen, Carl and wife Christel Dowell; several grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Ashlock, Bonnie Durant, and Shirley Barger; sister-in-law, Sue Koehn. 

In addition to his wife, Birch was preceded in passing by his parents, six brothers, and four sisters.
