Nora Dell (Hughey) Doughty

November 28, 1883 ~ August 26, 1928

Mrs. Nora Dell Hughey Doughty died Sunday, August 26, 1928, at her home in the Little Flock neighborhood, at the age of 44 years, eight months and twenty-eight days.

Funeral services were held at the home, Monday afternoon at three o'clock by Rev. A. J. Deason of Pleasant Hill.

Burial at the Tucks Chapel Cemetery.

Nora Dell Hughey was born November 28, 1883, near Martinville, Illinois.

Her mother died when Nora was but sixteen months old. She lived with her grandmother and later with her stepmother.

Her young life was useful to the neighborhood. She was converted at the age of fourteen and united with the Methodist Church.

She was in her second year in the high school when she met and later married Lester Loren Doughty, January 1, 1901. To this union were born six boys and six girls all of whom are living except for one daughter, Laura Esther, who died at the age of ten months.

She is survived by her husband and eleven children, Mr. P. W. Drake, living at Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Mrs. O. E. Drake of Belpre, Kansas; and the others are all at home.

The family moved from Illinois to San Antonio, Texas in 1908 and then to western Oklahoma three years later. They came to Rogers four years ago.

Mrs. Doughty was the Little Flock correspondent of the Rogers Democrat until six months ago when she was compelled to give up the work because of her illness.

Through her good nature and loyal friendship, she won a large number of friends wherever she has lived, and all of them will learn of her death with much regret.

The above obituary is taken from the Rogers, Arkansas Democrat.

Mrs. Drake of this city attended the funeral of her mother, there.
