Robert D Dooley

Robert D Dooley fell asleep in death after a short battle with cancer.

Robert was born in Yale, OK on December 7th, 1946. He spent his early years in Cushing, OK and graduated from Cushing High School in 1965. In 1966 he was drafted into the Army. During his time in the Army, the one thing he enjoyed, aside from the acquaintances that he made, was learning about and working on the OV-1 Mohawk aircraft. On June 16, 1966 he was married to Sandra Kay Robinson. The following year their son Rance was born in August of 1967.

After his time in the Army, the family settled for a while in Coffeyville, KS. He worked various jobs in the Coffeyville area for several years. In October 1977, their son Ryan was born. It wasn’t too long after that the family moved back to the Cushing area. Robert started working in refineries in Kansas and continued doing so in Oklahoma. He worked for Allied in Stroud, OK, as well as Sinclair in Tulsa, eventually landing at Conoco in Ponca City, OK where he eventually retired.

In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his Granddaughters and recently Great-Grandson. He also enjoyed various hobbies as health permitted including, knife making, collecting cowboy memorabilia, and random odds and ends in his garage.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Don and Wilma Dooley and brother Richard Dooley. He is survived by his wife Sandy Dooley, sons Rance, Ryan(Maureen), Granddaughters Samantha(Tara) and Desi(Sean), as well as Great Grandson Elijah and a Great Granddaughter that is on the way. He is also survived by his relatives-in-law Karen, Elaine, Paula, and Don and Nancy as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
