Joseph Jarvis "J J" Donohue

Joseph Jarvis "J J" Donohue
July 20, 1921 ~ July 11, 2013

Joe (JJ) Donohue died on Thursday at the age of 91. He was a quiet, thoughtful, and sincere man, devoted to God and dedicated to his family. He left this world excited to be reunited with the love of his life, Margaret (Cusack), his wife of 59 years, who preceded him in death.

Awarded the bronze star for his military service in WWII, Joe served the country he loved with bravery.

Joe was best known for his outstanding work ethic and dedication to his career. He rose to the position of Vice President of Bovaird Supply Company where he was employed for 25 years. He was the founder and president of Donohue-Sterling Inc. for the next 35 years. His integrity in business, and in life, was legendary.

Joe will be remembered by his eldest daughter Kay Hughes, son Mike Donohue, and youngest daughter Ellen Olsen and husband Rob. Joe was mentor and hero to three grandchildren, Ryan Hughes and fianc" Jen, Chad Olsen and wife Deidra, and Courtney Olsen, and was the proud great-grandfather to four little ones. He is also survived by one sister and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his son in law Dr. Quillen Hughes and a sister. In addition to many friends, he will also be greatly missed by his well-fed, four-legged companion, Winston Churchill.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Janice, Bridget, Mary, Betty, Angie and Carolyn for their dedicated service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to OMRF, 825 N.E. 13th Street. Oklahoma City, OK 73104
