Mary Joan (Williams) Dolman

Mary Joan (Williams) Dolman
June 10, 1946 ~ June 5, 2019

Mary Joan Williams Dolman (Joan), age 72, of Yukon, OK passed away peacefully on June 5, 2019 surrounded by loving family. She was born in Houston, TX on June 10, 1946, the youngest of nine children (all brothers) to John William Williams and Mary Augusta Felten Williams. Joan was married to the late Garry Dean Dolman on January 8th, 1966.

She is survived by her three children: son, Rob Dolman and his wife Kim of Edmond, grandsons Drake and his wife Audrey of Oklahoma City, OK and Andrew of Edmond, OK; son, Phil Dolman of Union City, OK and grandson Phillip and his wife Vivian of Mustang, OK and great-grandson’s Izzrael, Kaizen and Kruize; and her loving daughter and caretaker, Tandy Dolman Blagg and her husband Stacy of El Reno, OK, granddaughters Shelby Blagg of Oklahoma City, OK, Bailey Blagg and great-grandson Caspian of Eufaula, OK and grandson Gunner Blagg and his wife Emily and great-granddaughter Sutton of Yukon, OK.

Additionally, she is survived by brothers, Bob Williams of Kansas City, MO, Roy Williams and his wife Eleanor of Wichita, KS and Ken Williams and his wife Pam of Broken Arrow, OK and countless nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Garry, on April 28, 2017. Other predeceased include her parents at a very young age, John and Augusta, and then by two sets of foster parents, Aaron and Eva Atterberry and David and Bettie Twitchell and five brothers, Johnny, Wilbur, Bill, Darrell and Roger.

Due to her parents passing while she was just a child, those eight older brothers spoiled her and continued to do so while she was being looked after by her two sets of foster parents. Then Garry picked up spoiling her where they left off and they settled down in Fulton, MO to raise a family before moving to Yukon in 1980.

Soon after they moved to Yukon, she settled into a long career in the Yukon City Clerk’s office and served the city of Yukon for many years as Deputy Court Clerk. She was so into that job that we may have, within the home, endearingly referred to her as Deputy Fife. She was then promoted to Court Clerk which would have been an honor for her had she not spent most of her time trying to talk Yukon Police Officers out of speeding tickets issued to her two sons.

Joan loved her family more than anything, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to shop, especially for shoes and she loved giving gifts to others. Like her predeceased husband, she was an awesome parent and she will be greatly missed by those left behind.

he family will receive friends at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home in Bethany, OK from 5-7 PM on Friday, June 7 and a celebration of Joan’s life will be held at Covenant Community Church in Yukon, OK conducted by Bryan Gilbert on Saturday, June 8 at 2:00 PM.
