Claudia Mae (Juneau) Dodge

Claudia Mae (Juneau) Dodge
Jun 01, 1957 ~ December 10, 2020

Claudia Mae Dodge, 63, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 10, 2020. She was born in 1957 in Winsboro, Louisiana to John Edward and Nellie Mae. She married her best friend and partner in life, Steven Douglas Dodge, in August 1976 in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

She dedicated her time as an elementary school teacher’s aide to children with special needs, owned and operated a bed and breakfast in Rocheport, Missouri with her husband, and supported her children and grandchildren in their passions and hobbies.

Claudia enjoyed the little things in life. Whether it be chatting at the table, driving through the mountains, sitting on the beach listening to the water, or going on cruises with her husband, she was fully present in every moment. She showed kindness and compassion to every person she met and her smile was contagious. Her presence was warm and inviting and she had a glow that would light up the room.

She often said “this too shall pass” to her loved ones in difficult times, which served as a reminder of the strength and courage she carried through life. Claudia leaves a legacy of perseverance and more importantly, she leaves a legacy of love for others.

Claudia is preceded in death by her parents, John Edward and Nellie Mae Juneau; and brother Billy Ray Juneau. She is survived by her husband, Steven Dodge of Yukon, OK; son Shaun (Ellie) Dodge of Denton, TX; daughter, Jessica Dodge of Edmond, OK; daughter Caitlin Dodge of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Bellamie Larson, Sadie Dodge, Lucas Fulton, Oliver Sloat, Miles Dodge, and Theo Sloat; brother James (Lynn) Juneau of Bullhead City, AZ; sister Annie Laura King of Natchez, MS; and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of Claudia’s life will be held on January 14, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Buchanan Funeral Service, located at 8712 N. Council Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73132.

Memorial donations in memory of Claudia may be made to The CARE Center of Oklahoma City.
