Donna Jean "DJ" (Burns) Dobbins
August 26, 1958 ~ November 2, 2017 (age 59)

Donna Jean "DJ" Dobbins was born August 26, 1958 in Elkhart, Kansas to Donna Louise and Eugene Robert Burns. She passed away November 2, 2017 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years, 2 months and 6 days.

DJ grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Keyes, Oklahoma then graduated from Carter, Oklahoma high school in 1976. After graduation she remained in Carter until she met and was married to John Arlie Dobbins at Wheeler, Texas on March 9, 1984. After their marriage they remained in Carter to make their home. DJ was active in the community serving as an EMT and working at the convenience store. DJ was also an active mother and grandmother attending all of her grandchildren's events and spending time with all of her family. She enjoyed crocheting blankets for her family, working on her house and refurbishing old antique items. DJ was also a member of the Carter First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and 1 brother, Jerry Don Parker.

She is survived by her husband, John Dobbins, of the home; 3 sons, Daniel Dobbins and wife, Heather, Willow, OK, Clayton Dobbins and wife, Emily, Willow, OK and Robert Dobbins, Carter, OK; 2 daughters, Kessence Jones and Lanna Hays; 5 granddaughters, Danni, Anndi, Emi'Lee, Tahlor and Zyana; her father, Eugene Burns, Keyes, OK; 3 brothers, Alan Burns, Bill Burns and Clint Burns; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
